Latest News: Veqa ImageFly 1.5 Released
June 24, 2007
Finally, Veqa Image Resizer 1.5 is here, and its got some new resizing tricks to show you. We've been working around a year on this and let me tell you, a lot of things go on in that time. To put it honestly, there were many things that got in the way, but all that matters is we went right back to working on it - after several interesting interruptions. We hope the time was very much worth it though and we're thankful that we're here to now present it.
We should note, however, the 1.5 updates of Veqa Image Marker, Veqa Image Effects, and Veqa ImageFly are still to come. Yet, much later than expected, but as planned we still intend on releasing them during this year of 2007. And, yes, they'll indeed be similar to Veqa Image Resizer 1.5, so expect the same quality and certain features. We're not done yet with the 1.5 project, but we're getting there.
Now onward to Veqa Image Resizer 1.5, now beefed up a notch featuring unique things you may not find anywhere else. Our last version 1.0.2 will seem small in comparison. Version 1 though was just intended to be a basic resizer to start off with, but 1.5 will show you more on what Veqa is all about and a hint on where we are going and what our interests are.
Our top priority for 1.5 was the class. The class enables users to make their own custom scripts with the use of the software. But also, it makes the coding a lot more organized, which was more of our primary focus. And as much as we don't want to admit it, the cache feature, of which we have also implemented, was a lot more work than the class altogether. The caching is pretty major, but to top it off, we had this nifty idea of making a cache gallery for it as well.
We didn't just want users to guess it was caching images, we wanted them to see it right in the software's interface. What better way to demo its caching than with a cache gallery, anyway, right? So, users would be more sure on what they're getting and it makes for a more appealing feature just as well. But of course, there's more things involved in the actual caching than the cache gallery, but at least you get to see what's going on.
The actual cache processing we have set up to be not just smart, but organized also. The cache works when an image has been generated and then it saves a special cached image file of that. When the image is called again, it'll be directed to that cached version to save processing work on servers. But what also goes on is that these cached files become properly named and ordered to be easily identified. And for being smart, let's say a cached version no longer resembles the original image, don't worry, it'll notice the change and recache and update.
And then there's the login protection it also features. Not many other image manipulation scripts has this, so we're glad to offer it in our own to make the user feel a lot more secure. And if necessary, you can have multiple logins for other users. And we have also supplied a lot more documentation for the software featuring product examples of manipulated images, so you get more of an idea of how to do what.
ImageMagick by command-line can now be used with the software also. And there's many other things added, but one of the other major things we should of course note is the enhanced resizing. It seriously went through a bit of work for that as you might see. We got a lot more functionality for the presets, so you can actually add your own, but also comes with 82 we put in ourselves. And it features other size units than average pixels, such as inches, percentage, points, etc. Plus you can do special calculations with adding, subtracting, randomizing, limiting, and so on.
So, that's most of the highlights of this update, but you should go see the demo of it we have on our Web site and see for yourself on what it's all about. And as we have noted before, if you already have a previous version of Veqa Image Resizer, you may receive the updated 1.5 version from us for free, if requested. Just reply to the E-mail message detailing the download of your ordered product that was sent to you and request for the update and we'll get to you.
